Spotlight on Dharma includes extracts from the Manusmriti and the Bhagavad Gita, as well as aspects of mental worship, to guide and support aspirants on their journey along the path of Dharma. Among the four Purusharthas (goals of human life) prescribed for attaining the highest good, Dharma is paramount. When practiced diligently, it leads the aspirant to the ultimate good. In our traditional system of learning, knowledge is imparted by the Guru or perceptor. Understanding the dharmic aspects in light of right and wrong conduct is also taught by the Guru. However, given the purely secular nature of modern education and the stressful pace of contemporary life that leaves little room for reflection, a detailed guide on the facets of Dharma was deemed necessary. Thus, this book was published to serve this purpose under the divine guidance of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidya Tirtha Mahaswamiji of Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham.
